Back to School Apple Challenge

It's hard to believe but it is time to go back to school.  In fact, my two older children start back this week.  It's kind of bittersweet.  On one hand I know they need to get back to their routine, but on the other, I don't feel like I got to do very much with them since having the baby.  But I know they've really had a great summer...Disneyworld vacation, new baby brother, sleepovers with friends and cousins, and TONS of swimming!  I'd say that's a fun summer!
So in celebration of back to school, our challenge this week over at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to create a card or project using an apple Cricut cut.  Just be sure to tell us which cartridge you used.
Easy right?
I chose to create a layout for my kids' first day pictures for this year.  I know...I feel so ahead of the game!!  I made a layout before the event even happens!  I really love how it came out.  As I normally do, I went to Pinterest for inspiration.  I love this one.
Don't forget to follow me for more scrapbooking inspiration.

Bunny Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug.  This week we are creating projects, cards, or layouts featuring a bunny cut with your Cricut.  I decided to get a start on Easter treat bags for my kids' classes.  I bought some bunny graham crackers at Walmart.  I thought they would be perfect for treat bags.
I was determined to make this easy since I am making 51.  I didn't pick anything with a lot of layers.
I started off by picking a photo mat from Artbooking to use as my topper.  I cut the bunny from Holiday Cakes and the carrot from Create a Critter.

I used the craftroom to help me with my sizing and to layout several cuts on a page.
For the photo mat, I glued the layers then I scored it at 2.5 in. to fold it to make a topper.
I also used Auto-Fill for my bunny cuts.  You can adjust this to whatever size paper you are using.
I usually cut everything out and then I start layering and putting together my treat bags in an assembly line to go a little faster.
So 46 more to go this week!
Supplies:
Artbooking Cartridge:  Frame cut at 6 in.
Holiday Cakes Cartridge:  Bunny 1.5 in.
Create a Critter:  Carrot 1 in.
Recollections cardstock and pattern paper
CTMH black ink
chalk
And after I finished a few treat bags, we finally put up Easter decorations and had some of this:
And it was soooo good!

We hope you'll join us this week over at Bitten by the Bug 2 with your Bunny Project.

Another First Day of Pre-K Layout

Hello Everyone!  I have another Back-to-School layout and a video to share!  I've been getting a little more scrapping done lately.  Finally!  I had to stay home from work a few days with my 18 month old.  She wasn't feeling too bad, just a mild fever, so I was able to get some layouts done.  I really had fun making this one, and it came together really quickly.  At the end of my video, I explain how I plan everything out in my gypsy.

First Day of Kindergarten Layout

Hey everyone!  I wanted to share my latest layout and video I finished.  I've been working on some "Back to School" theme layouts for my kids.  I've seen so many great ideas on Pinterest!  I'm going to enter this one in the Back to School challenge going on over at Exploring Cricut.
I tried to do something a little different from what I normally do on titles by making a banner and mixing the fonts.  I think it came out cute.
The banner is from Birthday Bash.  Isn't it cute?
Check out my video:

Now I know in the video, I said I wouldn't cut the pattern paper on my cricut, but I gave it a try on another layout afterwards, and it cut great with blade at 3 and pressure at medium.
Supplies:
Banner-Birthday Bash
"Day"-Gypsy Font
"of"-Lyrical Letters
"Kindergarten"-Cuttin up
Apples-Create-a-Critter
Pencil-Simply Charmed
Elegant Edges for green mat
Recollections Paper

Apple Layout

Sometimes I get in such a rut when I try to think of layout ideas.  Thank goodness for all the Pinterest inspiration.  This layout, however, came to mind really quickly and came out just like I wanted!
The apple comes from Create-a-Critter.  I used my gypsy to plan out how I wanted it and to see how big my apple needed to be and hid the facial features.  I ended up sizing the apple at 12.09 in. The photo mat for my pictures is 7 5/8 by 8 1/8.
Supplies:
Create-a-Critter-Apple cut at 12.09 in.
Type Candy Font Cartridge-letters cut at 1.75 in.
Recollections cardstock and patterned paper
brown chalk
white gel pen
button
Stamp-Scrappy Moms-Picture Perfect set

Overall, it was a super quick and simple layout to create.  I love it when that happens!
