Stars and Stripes Challenge

Hey everyone!  It's time for a Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge!  This week Brenda has chosen a patriotic theme in honor of 9/11 coming up.  She would like us to use stars and and stripes to honor those men and women who risk their lives for our freedom from the military to law enforcement to fireman.  We just want to create a project to show our appreciation.
I created a quick card using Artbooking, and I really like how it turned out.

Supplies:
Artbooking for stars and star border
Cardstock from Papertrey ink and Recollections
White gel pen
Swiss dots Cuddlebug folder
Pattern paper from my scraps

So we hope you'll join in on the challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2!!

Mother's Day Cards Challenge

Hey everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  Mother's Day is this weekend!  Emily has challenged us to create a project with Mother's Day in mind.  I decided to see what was available in Cricut Craft Room.  They always have free cards available for a limited time.  You can find it under "My Cartridges."
I made two different cards to share with you.

I cut the card at 5 inches.  I cut the white mat out twice.

I used Papertrey cardstock and scrap pattern paper.
This was really a quick and simple card if you need one pretty fast.  I love how all the thinking was done for me.
Please join us in our Mother's Day Challenge this week over at Bitten by the Bug 2.

Also, don't forget this week is teacher appreciation week.  I'll be sharing what I created this week.  You can also view past creations under my Treats and Gifts link at the top.

Spring Flowers Card

Hey everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  This week Pam has selected Spring Flowers as our theme.  We are just now seeing the first blooming trees this month, and I can't wait to see more!  I LOVE this time of year.  Down here in Louisiana, we don't see Spring for very long before the intense summer heat kicks in, so we try to really enjoy it.
My inspiration for this card came from this sketch:
My card is made using DCWV Citrus Stack....I love this stack!  I got this a few years ago from JoAnn's.
My red tulip is cut from Create-a Critter 2 and my blue flowers came from Kate's ABC's.

Supplies:
Create a Critter 2 - red tulip cut at 2.5 in.
Kate's ABCs - blue flowers cut at 2.5 in. (one flipped)
DCWV Citrus Stack
Stampin Up cardstock
My Creative Time-Sentiment
Martha Stewart border punch
Peachy Keen Sweet and Silly Face Assortment
Carribean Baker's Twine
White Gel Pen
Chalk

I finished off the card with a 1 inch strip of pattern paper on the inside.

Birthday Card with a Number

Hey everybody!  Long time, no blog right?  Well I have a pretty good explanation for my 7 week hiatus, which I will share with you tomorrow.  But before I get to that, I wanted to share with you a project I made for the latest Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge.  A card was an easy way for me to get back into the swing of things.  I must admit flipping through my stacks of paper was enough to get me motivated again.
For this week's challenge, all you have to do is create a birthday card with a number on it.  Just make sure you tell us what Cricut cartridge you used.
This card is for my oldest daughter's 7th birthday coming up in February.

That cute polka dot paper is from an 8.5 x 11 Recollections stack at Michaels.  It is called Rainbow.  It has tons of cute and colorful girly patterns.

Supplies/Details:

Cupcake cut-Sweet Treats-4 in.

I chose to go with a snowman since I just love snowmen, and we are always wishing for snow down here in Louisiana. Every now and then the conditions will be just right, and we will get snow.  I promise we are all like a bunch of kids outside when that happens!  So exciting!  So I made my Christmas card with one of my Christmas wishes for every year: Let It Snow!

Monogrammed Cards

Guess what!  Michael's has Chevron Recollections cardstock paper packs!  I was so excited when I saw this the other day.  I couldn't wait to use it!
I love anything monogrammed, so I wanted to make some cute monogrammed card sets.

I made these note cards as gifts on Supply Day for Teacher Appreciation Week.  I kept them pretty simple since I had to make about 15.  I made a set of five per teacher with five A2 size envelopes.

The font and scalloped oval came from the Storybook cartridge.

I really had a trouble deciding whether to keep the colors the same or mix them up.  Making decisions is not my strong point, especially when it comes to colors and picking out paper!  In the end, I went with a monochromatic look and included one of each color per set.

Supplies:
Storybook cartridge for scalloped oval and letters
Recollections cardstock
Coredinations cardstock
Baker's Twine
A2 envelopes
chalk
pop dots

Side note:  As I was making these last Friday morning, I was listening to Kathie Lee and Hoda on TV talking about how every Southern gal loves everything monogrammed and I thought, how ironic, yes we do!
