April Showers Challenge

Hey everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2!  This week our theme is April Showers.  You can create a card, layout, or other project with a "shower" theme such as rain shower, baby shower, wedding shower, etc.  Just make sure you use a Cricut cut.
For the challenge, I decided to make a shaped card using the bottle cut from Baby Steps.

This card came together very quickly even with my 2 year old hanging around.

The bottle is cut at 5 inches.  Using the Cricut Craft Room, I welded two bottle cuts together.  I then cut a second bottle cut in the pink polka dot cardstock followed by the other cuts.
I have really grown to love the Cricut Craftroom.  I still have my Gypsy, but I like being able to use the colors to help make some of the paper decisions easier.

Supplies:
Bottle-Baby Steps-5 in.
K & Company cardstock
Recollections cardstock
chalks
Scrappy Moms Stamps-Simple Sentiments
Papertrey Ink-Raspberry Ink

So we hope you will join us this week over at Bitten by the Bug 2!

And be sure to check out some new recipe posts over on my other blog, Diary of a Recipe Collector.

Spring Flowers Card

Hey everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  This week Pam has selected Spring Flowers as our theme.  We are just now seeing the first blooming trees this month, and I can't wait to see more!  I LOVE this time of year.  Down here in Louisiana, we don't see Spring for very long before the intense summer heat kicks in, so we try to really enjoy it.
My inspiration for this card came from this sketch:
My card is made using DCWV Citrus Stack....I love this stack!  I got this a few years ago from JoAnn's.
My red tulip is cut from Create-a Critter 2 and my blue flowers came from Kate's ABC's.

Supplies:
Create a Critter 2 - red tulip cut at 2.5 in.
Kate's ABCs - blue flowers cut at 2.5 in. (one flipped)
DCWV Citrus Stack
Stampin Up cardstock
My Creative Time-Sentiment
Martha Stewart border punch
Peachy Keen Sweet and Silly Face Assortment
Carribean Baker's Twine
White Gel Pen
Chalk

I finished off the card with a 1 inch strip of pattern paper on the inside.

We hope you will join us this week over at Bitten by the Bug 2!!
I'm also entering this card over at Exploring Cricut and More
I also want to share a fabulous recipe with you over on my food blog, Diary of a Recipe Collector.

St. Patrick's Day Treats

Hey everyone!  It's time for a St. Patrick's Day challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  I thought it would be a great opportunity to make some fun treats for my older kids.  I think they'll be excited to get them.  My daughter has had her eye on those Rolos since I bought them last week.
See details below for how I created these in the Cricut Craftroom and download the file to use for yourself.
We  hope you join in on the challenge this week too!

The topper comes from Elegant Edges, and I just changed the height to 5.5 in. and width to 3.75 in. then I scored it at 2.75 in. to fold it in half.
The other cuts are from Create-a-Critter 2.  I flipped the rainbow in the craftroom too.

I use the layers in the craftroom to help me choose colors.  After I decide what I want, I spread it all out on a 12 x 12 mat and cut my papers accordingly.  This layout in the craftroom is for 2 treats.

Another great feature of the craftroom is the the Image Search feature.  I knew I wanted a cloud for my rainbow, so I just searched for one.  I quickly found one from the Cricut Craftroom Basics, which is available to everyone.

Supplies:
Elegant Edges-Scalloped Square (resized to be 3.75 by 5.5 in.)
Create-a-Critter 2-Rainbow 2.5 in.
Create-a-Critter 2-Good Luck 1 in.
Cricut Craftroom Basics-Cloud  1 in.
Papertrey Ink-Aqua Mist cardstock
Recollections cardstock
Cuddlebug Swirls folder.
chalk
clear bags approximately 3.75 x 5 in.
