Candyland Birthday Layout

Hey everyone!  I have a fun layout to share with you guys.  This week Bitten by the Bug 2 is having a super easy challenge this week.  The theme is "Birthday."  I decided to make a layout for my oldest daughter's 7th birthday.  She had a Candyland birthday cake.  It was really fun to make, and she loved it!
I created the layout with mostly Create a Critter 2 cuts.
I cut the cake from Sweet Treats.

The title is actually two separate words that I welded together using the Craftroom.

I ran some of the cuts through my Xyron sticker maker and then added some glitter.
The pattern paper is from the Echo Park Summer Days collection.  I LOVE this collection, and I find myself not wanting to use it because I want to save it.
I also wanted to show you a picture of the cake I made.

My daughter was so excited with it!  I'll have all the details on how to make it on my food blog on Wednesday.

We hope you'll join us this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 and link up your new birthday project made with Cricut cuts.  Please don't forget to tell us what cartridge you used.

And I also wanted to share some of my food creations if you're interested in checking them out.

Easter Challenge

I've got a quick and simple layout to share with you all.  This week Bitten by the Bug 2 is hosting a challenge where all you have to do is post an Easter project made using your Cricut.
I decided to make a layout for my youngest daughter's first year album.  I have the most precious pictures of her from that day.  I have to start moving faster with my layouts, and I was pretty proud that I made this one very quickly.
The eggs are cut from Create a Critter 2.  I ran the pink and the purple through my Cuddlebug.  I embellished the green ones with buttons and rhinestones.

I
The other cuts are from Artbooking.  I ran the flower border though my Cuddlebug also.

Spring Flowers Card

Hey everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  This week Pam has selected Spring Flowers as our theme.  We are just now seeing the first blooming trees this month, and I can't wait to see more!  I LOVE this time of year.  Down here in Louisiana, we don't see Spring for very long before the intense summer heat kicks in, so we try to really enjoy it.
My inspiration for this card came from this sketch:
My card is made using DCWV Citrus Stack....I love this stack!  I got this a few years ago from JoAnn's.
My red tulip is cut from Create-a Critter 2 and my blue flowers came from Kate's ABC's.

Supplies:
Create a Critter 2 - red tulip cut at 2.5 in.
Kate's ABCs - blue flowers cut at 2.5 in. (one flipped)
DCWV Citrus Stack
Stampin Up cardstock
My Creative Time-Sentiment
Martha Stewart border punch
Peachy Keen Sweet and Silly Face Assortment
Carribean Baker's Twine
White Gel Pen
Chalk

I finished off the card with a 1 inch strip of pattern paper on the inside.

We hope you will join us this week over at Bitten by the Bug 2!!
I'm also entering this card over at Exploring Cricut and More
I also want to share a fabulous recipe with you over on my food blog, Diary of a Recipe Collector.

St. Patrick's Day Treats

Hey everyone!  It's time for a St. Patrick's Day challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  I thought it would be a great opportunity to make some fun treats for my older kids.  I think they'll be excited to get them.  My daughter has had her eye on those Rolos since I bought them last week.
See details below for how I created these in the Cricut Craftroom and download the file to use for yourself.
We  hope you join in on the challenge this week too!

The topper comes from Elegant Edges, and I just changed the height to 5.5 in. and width to 3.75 in. then I scored it at 2.75 in. to fold it in half.
The other cuts are from Create-a-Critter 2.  I flipped the rainbow in the craftroom too.

I use the layers in the craftroom to help me choose colors.  After I decide what I want, I spread it all out on a 12 x 12 mat and cut my papers accordingly.  This layout in the craftroom is for 2 treats.

Another great feature of the craftroom is the the Image Search feature.  I knew I wanted a cloud for my rainbow, so I just searched for one.  I quickly found one from the Cricut Craftroom Basics, which is available to everyone.

Supplies:
Elegant Edges-Scalloped Square (resized to be 3.75 by 5.5 in.)
Create-a-Critter 2-Rainbow 2.5 in.
Create-a-Critter 2-Good Luck 1 in.
Cricut Craftroom Basics-Cloud  1 in.
Papertrey Ink-Aqua Mist cardstock
Recollections cardstock
Cuddlebug Swirls folder.
chalk
clear bags approximately 3.75 x 5 in.
Rolos and Sprees

So we hope you will join us this week over at Bitten by the Bug 2 and here is the link to download this file for the Cricut Craftroom:

And I've finally started cooking again!  Check out these two great recipes over on my food blog with my new design from Designer Blogs!!!

Valentine Heart Challenge

Hey Everyone!  Jayne has selected a fun challenge over at Bitten by the Bug.  It is a Valentine heart challenge, and for me, this was right on time.  I needed to get started on treats for my kids' classes.  Now that they are in elementary school, their class sizes are much bigger.  I have to make 50 of these babies!

All you have to do to join in on the challenge this week is create a card or project with a Cricut heart cut.
This cute angel heart cut comes from Create-a-Critter 2 and is sized at 2.5 in.

To make these, I just trimmed and stapled two 1x8 clear bags from Jaded Blossoms to the shadow layer.  Then I glued the top layer over it.

I think they came out pretty cute so far.  So we hope to see you link up your heart project this week!  In the meantime, I'll be working on the other 40 something of these!

I'm also linking up this week with:

And if you need another Valentine treat idea, these are the treats I made last year using My Craft Spot stamps and Create-a-Critter 2:

You're a Turkey Challenge

Hey everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2!  For this week, Melanie is asking everyone to create a card or project with a turkey on it!  I was totally in the mood for this challenge!  I say we give the poor little turkeys some extra last minute attention before Christmas creeps around the corner!
For my project, I decided to do a layout for my son's album.  I used Create-a-Critter 2 and Simply Charmed.  I also used my favorite leaf from Everyday Paperdolls.
My most difficult time with this layout came with leaving enough room for 8 photo mats!  I know that's a lot of pictures.  I have serious issues with only picking a few to showcase on a layout.  But I got it to work and was still able to get a good size title and several cuts!
Don't you just love that orange chevron?  It came from a scrapbook store and I don't have any other details other than that.  I just knew it would be perfect for the tree!

Check out my quick video:  (must be viewed from my blog or YouTube)

Supplies:
Simply Charmed-Tree and Pumpkins
Create-a-Critter 2-Turkeys and Acorns
Everyday Paperdolls-Leaves and Sign
Recollections-Solid Cardstock
Green Pattern Paper and Orange Polka Dot-DCWV Bewitched Pad
Orange Chevron - local store
"Gobble" stamp-Scrappy Moms-A Holiday to Remember
Stampin Up Chocolate Ink

So we hope you will join us this week over at Bitten By the Bug 2!!

Last Minute Halloween Treat Bags

Hey Guys!  I wanted to share my last-minute Halloween treat bags.  Yes, I really procrastinated this year.  I just couldn't make a decision all month on what I wanted to do either.  I knew I had to make 46 treat bags (for 2 classes for my kiddos).  That being said, I knew I didn't want to spend forever layering cuts.  So I went with REALLY SIMPLE!  And you know what...I am super excited with how they came out!
Check out my video below (must be viewed from blog or YouTube):
