Vinyl Home Decor Project

I've been wanting to do a monogram with our family name for quite some time now.  I am very pleased with how it came out.  I am entering this project over at Fantabulous Cricut this week.
Vinyl is so easy!  I did this project and another one (which I'll post in a day or so) in one night!  That was even with two little ones in the room with me!  A pair of scissors and some scrap paper entertained them for quite a while:)  I had it all planned out and the letters welded in my gypsy, so I was able to get right to cutting.

For this project, I used:
8 x 10 canvas
Martha Stewart craft paint
Easel from Michaels
Gypsy Font for the "D" and "Est" and "2002
Accent Essentials for the decorative cut on the bottom
"D" cut at 5 in.
"Est. 2002" cut at 2 in.
Decorative swirl- cut at 3.24 in.
*This was my first time to work with vinyl on a painted canvas surface.  I had a little trouble getting it to stick, and it wanted to bubble up a little.  I thing using a painted wood plaque would be a better option next time.

I'm entering this in the following:
Fantabulous Cricut-ABC's/123's-Use at least 1 letter or number Cricut cut

Peachy Keen Challenge 14

This week over at Peachy Keen they are having a color challenge:
I was so pumped up about these colors once I got out all the card stock and realized they were the color of my son's dinosaur bedding.

My friend Julia recently made a project like this for her son's room using the whales from Create-a-Critter.  I loved it so much!  She inspired me to try it with the dinosaurs from the cartridge.  Here are the supplies:
It really came out so cute!!!
Supplies:
Create-a-Critter-Dino 1 cut at 3 in.
Dino 2 cut at 2.5 in.
Palm Tree 1.5 in.
Plantin Schoolbook for letters cut at 3 in.
Recollections card stock and Simply Chartreuse from Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper (Striped-4 in x 7.5 in and red-4 in x 5 in)
PKS Critter Faces-Medium
Mod Podge
Craft Wood found at Michaels(They are 4.5 in wide.  I had my husband cut them down to 8 in high and 5.5 in high on the smaller one).
White paint
Twine
White and Black Gel Pens

I got so into this project that I immediately wanted to make a scrapbook page with it.

I used Birthday Bash for the title cut at 1.5 in. and welded it with my Gypsy.
Dino cut at 5 in. with tiny bubbles Cuttlebug folder on two of the layers
PKS Wide Eyed Kids Stamp
Tim Holtz Peeled Paint ink
Sakura white gel pen

This was so much fun to make!
